The Wright Flyer staff  is open to any

6^th 7^th and 8^th grade student by way of a try out. 

The try out consists of giving a writing sample on a given topic. These writing samples are scored highly on creativity and strong mechanics.

Responsibility is a huge part of being on the Wright Flyer staff so that is looked at throughout the try out process, too.

The Wright Flyer comes out four times a year: 

before fall break,

winter break,

spring break,

and at the end of the school year.

As for  meetings, the staff meets to brainstorm ideas for the upcoming issue. At this time, each staff member decides which articles they will be writing.

After the initial brainstorming meeting, the staff will meet two to three times before the issue is actually distributed.  This is a really good way for students to be involved in school and get to know the staff and student body!
