Pickup/Drop Off Lane:   Please remind your students that they should only exit your vehicle in the designated lane in the front of the school.  We want to prevent students from walking through the before- school and after-school traffic.  We appreciate your compliance in this matter.

Beginning Monday, March 28, 2011 a designated drop-off/pick-up lane will be incorporated into the main parking lot of Wilbur Wright Middle School.  Parents dropping off or picking up their children are asked to follow the following guidelines to promote safety and efficiency in the parking lot:

• Never drop off or pick up your child in the middle of Columbia Avenue.  This is extremely dangerous and is also illegal.
   

• Please pull up to the far end of the drop-off lane to allow for other vehicles to pull up to drop off or pick up their children behind you at the front curb.
   

• Please have your child ready to be dropped off when you are pulling into the parking lot.  Excessive time spent in the drop-off/pick-up zone creates traffic difficulties for other parents and back-ups onto Columbia Avenue.
   

• Please remember that students can also be dropped off or picked up on the north side of the building by way of the School Administration Lot. 
   

•  The speed limit in all parking lots is 15 miles per hour and 20 miles per hour on Columbia Avenue during drop-off and pick up times.  Violators will be referred to the Munster Police Department.
   

• Parents are reminded that no left turns from the parking lot are permitted during drop off and pick up times.  This has been implemented due to safety concerns and traffic flow reasons.
