ATHLETICS
GIRLS GOLF: There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, May 29th at 2:55 N191 for any girls wishing to try out in the fall for the 2012 Girls Golf Team. The meeting will take approximately 15 minutes and attendance is mandatory. If you have any questions please see coach Smitka in N191.
CLUBS
BEST BUDDIES: The Best Buddies Friendship Walk is scheduled for Saturday, May 19th in Crown Point.
GUIDANCE
SENIORS: Thursday, May 17th and Friday, May 18th caps and gowns will be distributed during lunch hours outside the Guidance Office. Please make sure you pick your cap and gown up. Everyone must purchase a cap and gown; you cannot use a sibling’s cap and gown.
SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS: Exciting Summer Opportunity for current sophomore and junior students: Purdue Research Park in West Lafayette is offering an exciting summer opportunity to students interested in business/ entrepreneurship whom demonstrate an aptitude in the areas of science, math and technology. This program will be held at Purdue University’s campus from June 24th - 29th. To qualify for this program students must have a nomination form completed by a teacher along with a 250 word essay. This is a free program for all students who are selected to participate with the exception of a $75.00 registration fee. Please see Mrs. Sanchez in Guidance for more information and/or to pick up a nomination form.
SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS: The Eisenman Materials Camp is geared for students interested in science and engineering. The camp is held in Materials Park, Ohio from July 15th – 21st. To apply students must complete an on-line application, submit two letters of recommendation, transcript and complete a personal essay. JUNIORS: The Indianapolis Division of the FBI and the FBI Citizens’Academy Alumni Association will be hosting an FBI Youth Leadership Academy July 25th - July 27th. This event will take place at Bradford Woods, IN University’s Experiential Learning Center. To be considered for this program a student must have completed their junior year, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, complete an essay of 500 words on how the program will enhance their future plans and possess strong leadership skills. JUNIORS & SENIORS: A local doctor’s office is looking to hire a junior or senior female student for a part-time, flexible position. Candidates should have strong computer skills and feel comfortable answering phone calls. Position would require about 25 hours a week. Please contact Monica Bayer if interested at 219-836-2522.

VOLUNTEERS: The Autism Society of Indiana-Northwest Chapter is looking for high school students to volunteer for a summer day camp. The dates are July 30th - August 10th.
