School Scholarship Directory
SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION It’s your senior year and you need money for college! Here is some information that will hopefully be helpful to you as you begin your search for scholarships. When searching for scholarships, it is important to know that: 1. 1. In order to receive a scholarship from a particular college or university, you must send an application AND be accepted to that particular university. Any university that you are accepted to should have a website dedicated to scholarships and grants that you can apply for, which you can find by going to the school’s Financial Aid page.
2. 2. You MUST be aware of deadlines. NO applications will be accepted after the deadline dates unless the scholarship is once again advertised.
3. 3. Many scholarships require a transcript or recommendation letter(s). In order to be sure that scholarship applications are sent on time, it is important that you see your Guidance Counselor or Miss Wisser in the Guidance Office for a transcript at least one week prior to the deadline. If you need a recommendation letter from a teacher or Guidance Counselor, make sure that you give him or her two weeks notice to ensure they have enough time to get it done for you.
4. 4. Be sure to check the Munster High School Scholarship Directory on the Munster High School website to see a list of scholarships- many local, others national- to see deadlines, requirements, and contact information.
5. 5. The scholarship list that appears in the Guidance Office or on the Munster High School website are scholarships that are sent to our Guidance Office and are only a sampling of what is actually available out there. Thousands of dollars go unclaimed every year because of students not taking the time to apply.
